What is the Enterprise Development Grant?
The Enterprise Development Grant supports projects that help Singapore companies upgrade, innovate, grow and transform. It covers three broad categories: Core Capabilities, Innovation & Productivity, and Market Access.
How much EDG support can an SME receive?
Eligible local SMEs may receive support of up to 50% of qualifying project costs. Non-SMEs may receive up to 30%. The final amount depends on Enterprise Singapore's assessment and prevailing grant conditions.
Who can apply for EDG?
The applicant should be a business entity registered and operating in Singapore, have at least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singaporeans or Singapore PRs, and be financially ready to start and complete the project.
Can mobile app or custom software development qualify?
Potentially. Enterprise Singapore lists the adoption or development of sophisticated hardware or software solutions and system integration among accepted automation projects. Approval depends on the specific business problem, project scope, outcomes and overall application.
What project costs may be supported?
EDG can fund qualifying project costs such as third-party consultancy fees, software and equipment, and internal manpower. Only costs accepted under the approved project scope are supported.
Can NexusBear submit the grant application for my company?
No. Enterprise Singapore states that third-party companies are not allowed to apply for or manage the grant on behalf of applicants. Your company must submit the application through the Business Grants Portal using Corppass. We can help define the software scope and provide relevant project information for your submission.
Can development begin before the application is approved?
Enterprise Singapore states that projects must be new, must not have commenced, and must not be generating revenue at the point of application. Confirm the official grant requirements and your application status before starting work or committing to project costs.
Is EDG approval guaranteed?
No. Every application is assessed by Enterprise Singapore based on factors including the project scope, intended outcomes and service provider competency. NexusBear cannot promise or guarantee approval or a particular funding amount.
